A Tribute From

The Children

The passing of our mother is something that we will never accept, neither understand, despite the certainty of death. As we grieve her death, we also know that the Lord who gave her to us has taken her away. We know she’s with the Lord. The illness and pains that once held her captive no longer have any power over her. Our Mother is now safe, because she is under the guidance of the Almighty God.

As we go through these sad times, we still will not forget the great times we had with our mother, each of us, in our own special way. We may not understand some of the things she did, but as our mother she knew what was best for us. When each of us was born, she was with us from the very first moments of our lifelong journey. She led us through those early and uncertain times of our lives. Our discomfort was her’s. Our tears became her tears. When we couldn’t worry for ourselves she did it for. When we couldn’t understand the complexity of the world she did it for us.

As we pay our final farewell to our dear mother, it is very important to tell you, we her children, the kind of person she was, the life she lived. Our mother, Eugenia Bolodeh Quire, was a Godly woman, a pray warrior. A warrior who found God everywhere she went, and never hesitated to call his name.  She was very energetic, friendly and out going. She enjoyed visiting people including the sick and the isolated.

She was born in a little town called Garraway, formerly in Maryland County, now part of Grand Kru County, on March 7, 1940 unto the union of Mr. Robert and Nyanor Quire. This union was blessed with five children. Jappeh Seidah Eugenia, Mariah and David Quire. Our mother left Maryland County and moved to Cape Mount County after the birth of her first daughter Mary Tahe who now lives in the Ivory Coast...

While traveling from Cape Mount to Monrovia, she met our father Mr. Luther Dioh. After their first meeting, her aunt Miss Kolenky noticed that she never complained any more whenever she was asked to travel to Monrovia, because she was always anxious and looking forward to seeing our father. Later on they both got married, and that union was blessed with three children, meki dwehdy, Nathaniel Nyema, and Diohdy Dioh.  She leaves behind fifteen grand children. Frank, Mae, Ange ,Love ,Eli, Naomi, Mary ,Mickey, Jasper, Love Marcia, Nathaniel, George ,Gele, Brittney, and Joshua, and two great grand children Malachi, and Malik. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives aunts and uncles.

To you Ma, if there was anything possible we could do for you to be with us forever, we would have done it. But the Lord our God, who loves you most, who can protect you better, has prevailed over us. We know you are well and safe with Him, but there will always be tears in our eyes for you. The fact that we will never see you again, talk to you, seek your advice, and hear you scold us when are wrong, and embrace us when we are right. The tears we are sharing are only for us… because we are feeling alone without you. To you Ma, we say goodbye and rest in peace.
